Keep calm and carry own

When you in a heated discussion discover things about yourself that you didn't know existed, and how they probably came to be in the first place.

Understanding yourself more can sometimes be scary, and sad for that matter. Some realisations may not be about one's flaws or qualities, they can simply be insights into why things are the way they are, and how the past is affecting you now. Clarity can arise on certain frustrations, and why you're drawn to certain people. Sometimes it can make you feel like you're broken, but I think it's best to try to feel like it's okay, just learn from it and move on. Understand that you can't fix everything and everyone, you can only try to lead with a good example, whatever you think is good - tap into your higher knowing.

There's a sad and frustrated silence filling the apartment. I'm trying to relax. Frustrated because I feel that change is in the air, but then there are some things that are stubbornly hanging in there. Unnecessary issues which could easily be resolved but just aren't. It makes me sad because I really want them to. Even if I've grown to detach from these problems, they're still there it seems - family dramas.

I think it's hard sometimes to simply accept that people are a certain way, and that there's nothing you can do about it. There's nothing you can say that will change how they act and how they speak, the only one who can change them are they themselves. That's how I've changed, by realising things on my own and being observant of my own thoughts and behaviour and how it affects others. Awareness is the tool to self-improvement. Instead of trapping ourselves in darkness and retreat into our bubble, we need to step out into the light. Not feeling sorry for ourselves, not being stubborn, jealous and uncooperative. We need to be brave, always brave. Because we've created problems and things to be afraid of to a degree that isn't fair to anything or anyone in this world. Be someone you would be proud of, without putting pressure on yourself. Be proud of accomplishment and efforts.

Helping each other is what creates bonds between people, it connects people, caring about each others wellbeing. A warming hug, a friendly smile or even just a pat on the shoulder can go a long way.

It's awesome to be strong, but sometimes it can be worse not to allow yourself to be a little bit weak once in a while - with emphasis on "what does it mean to be weak, and what does it mean to be strong?" We all need to cry, and vent, and feel like things will be alright. And it's our duty as intelligent sympathetic beings to support each other as well as we can, to let people know that they're not alone. We shouldn't of course let others drag us down and spend every waking hour to help someone, but in the midst of our care taking of ourselves, let there be time to take care of others as well.
